Cooperativa Atitlán was founded in 2015 with the aim of strengthening the livelihoods of local coffee producers and promoting sustainable farming practices. The cooperative is located in Santiago Atitlán, a town nestled on the shores of Lake Atitlán in the highlands of southwestern Guatemala. Lake Atitlán, formed in a volcanic caldera, is surrounded by three majestic volcanoes: Atitlán, Tolimán and San Pedro. This region offers high altitudes and rich volcanic soils, creating ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffees. This coffee develops subtle notes of nuts and chocolate, and is well-balanced with a beautiful acidity and an elegant body.
