Kiambu County is located just outside Nairobi. The region has a long history of coffee production and is famous for its vast plantations. This region has everything Arabica needs to thrive: its proximity to the equator, its iron-rich semi-volcanic soils, its abundant sunshine and its high altitudes, up to 2,000 metres above sea level, are remarkable. The cool night-time temperatures of these fertile highlands allow the cherries to ripen slowly, developing the acidity and complexity of the final cup. For this batch, once pulped, the cherries are immersed in water tanks for 12 to 48 hours of fermentation. They are then washed and dried in the sun for 2 to 3 weeks. Our medium roast reveals aromas of cherry and blackcurrant, with exceptional acidity and an intense body.
